Parfait your way ... to tasty breakfast!

‘Parfait’ means ‘perfect’ in French – and there’s really nothing more perfect than a delicious breakfast parfait, packed with flavour ... and they’re healthy too!

And if you like variety, parfait is perfect for you.

Start with a small jar, glass or tumbler; preferably something transparent so that you can appreciate the beautiful colours and textures.

Gather your ingredients. The basics are:

  • Alpen Muesli (naturally)
  • Yoghurt
  • Fruit – cut to bite-sized chunks

Putting it all together:

  • Pour some muesli into your glass/jar – no more than a finger width.
  • Spoon some yoghurt on top of that – again no more than a finger width
  • Now layer some of your cut fruit on top.
  • Repeat the layering process again starting with the muesli – and continue until you reach the top of the glass.

Top tips for parfait perfection:

  • Use seasonal fruit – it’s more affordable and by following the seasons you’ll be experiencing variety throughout the year.
  • Add fresh herbs and spices for tantalizing pops of taste… For example, try a sprinkling of cinnamon with pear or apple. Or vanilla. Or a little dash of honey. A fresh mint leaf. Or a few shavings of lemon rind - for a sweet zesty twist.
